How the Duels Machine Works in Steal a Brainrot

Based on the live Duels Machine and Sammy’s confirmed details, duels currently work as follows:

• Two players agree to duel (no random queue required).
• Both players choose 1 Brainrot from their inventory to fight for (a “wager”).
• Once accepted, both players get teleported to a duel server with only their bases.
• The winner gets the other player’s Brainrot (as described: “fight for the other Brainrot”).

Duels Machine Options Explained

The Duels Machine offers three different ways to challenge another player. Each option controls who you can duel and how the match is initiated.

Server Duels

Server Duels let you challenge someone currently in your game server. This is the fastest way to duel, but your opponent pool is limited to who happens to be in the same server as you.

Friends Duels

Friends Duels allow you to challenge players from your Roblox friends list. This option is best for organized duels, rematches, or testing strategies with people you trust.

Global Duels

Global Duels let you challenge anyone across Steal a Brainrot, but with important limitations. You must know the exact username of the player you want to duel, and they must already be online. There is no random Global matchmaking.

Because Global Duels require manual name searches and online timing, many players are now using external communities to find fair and active duel opponents.

No Public Matchmaking in Steal a Brainrot Duels Machine

One of the biggest details: Sammy said they’re not adding public matchmaking. Instead, duels are intended to be between people you know, or at least someone already in your server.

This was in response to concerns about scripters/scammers turning the system into “scam a brainrot”. Limiting matchmaking is a big sign the dev is thinking about safety from the start.

This design choice is why the Duels Machine does not include public or random matchmaking.

Duels Cooldown & Base + Brainrot Protection After Duels

Sammy confirmed an important safety mechanic for duels. After finishing a duel, players are teleported back to a public server, but receive a 30-second cooldown where their Brainrots cannot be stolen.

This cooldown only applies when returning from a duel and is designed to prevent players from being immediately targeted or griefed after high-stakes matches in Public Servers.

Duels Machine to be a Limited Time Event in Steal a Brainrot (With a Chance to Become Permanent)

Sammy also answered a key question: the Dueling Machine is planned to be limited time at first. If the community likes it, Sammy said they might add a permanent option later via a UI or something similar.

Duels Rules, Weapon Bans & Game Modes

The Duels Machine includes rule voting and special modes to keep matches fair and competitive. According to Sammy, duel settings are actively evolving based on player feedback.

• Weapon Bans: Each player can select a weapon to ban before the duel.

• Double-check which Brainrot is being wagered and confirm it’s the correct one.
• Agree on the duel format, including any weapon bans or game mode votes.
• Carefully review all confirmation screens before locking in the duel.

3) Record Your Duel (If You’re Wagering Something Big)

If you’re putting a high-value Brainrot on the line, recording the duel is a smart precaution. It helps document the agreed rules, protects you if something bugs out, and provides proof in case of disputes.
